Conservative investors are faced with a real challenge

Conservative investors preferred asset class, bonds, is no longer attractive to them amid continuously low interest rates. Instead of risk-free interest, bonds now offer interest-free risk. Major exposure to the equity market – to compensate for lower returns – is not desirable, either, as investors must keep risks in check.

Choose a multi-asset core investment that proves successful even in challenging times

Opting for one of our flexible multi-asset funds, PHAIDROS FUNDS CONSERVATIVE or PHAIDROS FUNDS BALANCED will provide you with all key characteristics of a fund portfolio combined into one product. To gauge the benefits, picture a smartphone: It may not provide you with the best standalone digital camera, alarm clock or MP3 player, but with one piece of equipment that offers a high-quality combination of the above functions. So, instead of deciding which gadget to carry with you at any time, you have easy access to all.

Profit from opportunities in an attractive segment of the high-yield bond market

PHAIDROS FUNDS FALLEN ANGELS is the latest member of the Phaidros Funds family. A “fallen angel” is the common term for bond that was rated investment grade at the time of issuance but that has fallen into below-investment grade, or high yield, territory following a downgrade to its credit rating. First, these issuers tend to have better debt profiles and greater financing flexibility than original issue high yield issuers. Second, fallen angel high yield corporate bonds have performed better with similar risk as other high yield corporate bonds. Why would fallen angels outperform? Typically, the fall from investment grade to high yield status is accompanied by a sharp price decline for the bond in question. In addition, the downgrade is often accompanied by mandatory selling from managers who are only allowed to hold investment grade bonds. The result is an opportunity for price appreciation as the selling abates and, possibly, the bonds eventually return to investment grade status. Keep in mind, however, that these bonds tend to have the elevated risk typically associated with high yield bonds.
